Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must meet the legal conditions defined in the Slovenian Citizenship and immigration legislation, including:
  • Hold a valid passport and be a non-EU citizen
  • Demonstrate financial independence and integration into society
  • Have a clean criminal record both in Slovenia and abroad
  • Pay applicable government and processing fees
  • Show legal source of funds if applying through business or investment route
  • demonstrate Slovenian ancestry (up to second-degree relatives) to qualify for citizenship by descent
  • Visit Slovenia when required during the application process and during the citizenship handover ceremony
